I live on a busy street and as it turns out there’s maybe three high schools within walking distance … so … somewhere between 3:30 and 4:30 pm each weekday I probably see about 100 or more teenagers walk by my house. I also live near a few lower schools so there’s lots of little kids going by at different times of day too.
Anyway … a few of the kids have a habit of standing right in front of my house and talking for ten of fifteen minutes before them go there separate ways. They’ll stand in my walkway and sometimes won’t even move when I’m trying to come out of my house with my dog.
I don’t know … but I find that kind of rude. I would never have done that when I was a teen. Sure I might have stood around talking to my friends, but if an adult needed to get by us I would have moved over and certainly we wouldn’t have blocked their property or stood on their property.
Some girls were standing at the end of my walkway yesterday. I guess they were talking about the prom because not only did they block my walkway but they left a flyer that they’d been holding that said prom dresses 2011 or something similar. I’d kind of forgotten how close to Prom time we were getting.
Anyway .. if we ever sell our house I’m not buying another on a busy street or one that’s near high schools. I’m tired of all the foot traffic and even the cars near my house.
