Wow, it’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 7 months since my husband and I both quit smoking cigarettes! Yep, June 12th will be 7 months.
I have to admit that during that first month or two I sometimes wondered if I’d ever make it this far. It was really hard to quit because I was so addicted to smoking. It was awful. I quit by using a medication called Zyban for three weeks – it made the cigarettes that I was smoking beginning to seem like hot air, by the second week on the medication I just stopped smoking …. but some people suggested I try ecigarettes. I really wasn’t sure about trying the ecigarettes because they still had nicotine in them and it was still a product that you’re bringing to your mouth regularly … I felt it was better to totally break the habit.
Anyway .. to each his own. Smoking is a nasty habit and it’s terribly addictive. I know – I smoked for over 25 years – I guess closer to 27 years to tell the truth and it took that long to quit! So I guess however anyone can do it the more power to them.
Have you managed to quit smoking? If so – how did you do it?
